A language course for iPhone
The language app designed to be deleted.
Omnia Languages teaches the everyday phrases and words a trip runs on: ordering, asking, paying, checking in and getting help. It drills them with the methods that have the strongest evidence for making them stick. Eight weeks, eight languages, and then it is done. It sets you up for conversations, not fluency.
Free to start with one week of one language. Full Access is $4.99 a month.

Most apps are built to keep you. This one is built to finish.
An app that wants you forever has every reason to keep you a little short of done. Omnia Languages has a last day. You learn what the trip asks of you, practise until it holds, and leave with it in your head rather than in the app.
Fifty-six modules in eight weekly blocks. Finish them and the course is complete. There is no endless tree and no next level.
No streak to protect, no reminders, no leagues. Miss a fortnight and you pick up exactly where you stopped.
You never made an account, so there is nothing to close. When you are done, cancel Full Access if you have it, delete the app and go.
The course
Eight weeks, and then it is over.
Every course has the same shape: eight themed blocks, seven modules each, one module a day. You move forward by finishing modules, not by the calendar, so a fortnight away costs you nothing but the fortnight.
8
languages, each a complete course
56
daily modules per language, in eight weekly blocks
12
phrases a day, drilled, spoken and spaced
1
free week of one language, no account needed
French follows its own eight-block sequence, from Essentials through Getting Around France to Culture, Conversation & Farewells. Block 1 is the free week in every language.
The method
Learn it, hear it, build it, say it, then leave it alone until tomorrow.
Every step is there because the research on retention supports it, not because it is fun. You recall phrases rather than recognise them, because active recall outlasts rereading. You learn whole phrases rather than loose words, because whole phrases are what come out fast when someone is waiting. You say them out loud, because drill scores do not turn into conversation on their own. And each phrase returns on separate days, because spacing is the best-supported way to make memory last.
-
Learn
Twelve phrases for one situation: a hotel desk, a pharmacy, a train that is not coming. Each carries a one-line note on how people actually say it.
-
Listen
A short exchange in the language. You answer with word tiles, by typing, by choosing, and once out loud.
-
Drill
Build the phrase from tiles. Type the missing word. Pick the answer fast. Production first, because recall is what a counter demands.
-
Speak
Six prompts you answer aloud and record for your own playback. Nothing is scored by a machine and nothing is uploaded.
-
Space
Each phrase returns on separate days: one, two, four, seven, fourteen. A miss comes back tomorrow. When nothing is due, the day ends.
Getting it wrong is part of the schedule.
An incorrect answer does not shake, flood the screen red or cost you a life. It shows what you built, the right answer and one line of why, then puts the phrase back in tomorrow's queue. Correct answers are marked in the language's own colour, not in green.
How reliably you recall these phrases in practice. Not a measure of conversation. Speaking counts for half of the score, accuracy for about a third, speed for the rest.

Eight languages
The same course, set properly in each language.
Every language has its own accent colour and its own typeface. Japanese is set in a Mincho face, Arabic runs right to left at a larger size, and French, Spanish, German and Italian teach both the formal and the informal way to address a stranger. English is a course for learners of English, cued by situations rather than translations.
- EnglishEnglishGeneral American. Situational cues, not translations.
- FrenchFrançaisVous and tu.
- SpanishEspañolLatin American, Mexico first. Usted and tú.
- GermanDeutschSie and du.
- ItalianItalianoLei and tu.
- Japanese日本語Polite forms throughout (です・ます).
- Korean한국어Polite forms throughout (해요체).
- ArabicالعربيةRight to left. Modern Standard Arabic.
Privacy
No account, no server, nothing we can read.
Progress, settings and your voice recordings live in the app's own storage on your iPhone. If you keep iCloud sync on, a copy of your progress also lives in the private iCloud database of your own Apple ID, where only you can see it. The only services the app talks to are Apple's: the App Store for your subscription and iCloud for that sync.
You never sign up or sign in. Reset the course or delete the app and everything on the device is gone.
Audio is captured only while you hold the control, never leaves the phone, not even to iCloud, and can be deleted in one tap in Settings.
No SDKs, no trackers, no advertising. The App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”.
