Privacy Policy

The app does not collect your data.

Everything Omnia Languages stores stays on your iPhone and, if you keep iCloud sync on, in your own iCloud account. This page explains what that is, where it lives, and what the app never does. Last updated 21 September 2026.

Omnia Languages (“the app”) is published by Akaeon. Questions about this policy go to support@akaeon.com.

The short version

The app does not collect your data. Everything it stores stays on your device and, if you keep iCloud sync on, in your own iCloud account. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party software libraries, and no server of its own. The only services it talks to are Apple's: the App Store for your subscription and iCloud for the optional sync described below. We cannot see any of it.

What the app stores on your device

  • Course progress. Which modules you have completed, your spaced-repetition schedule for each phrase, session history (date, duration, accuracy) and your Readiness score.
  • Settings. Your chosen language and, if you use the free tier, which block you chose.
  • Voice recordings. When you tap Record in the Speaking or Listen & Respond steps, the app records audio through the microphone and saves it in its own storage area so you can play it back. Recordings are made only while you hold the control; nothing is recorded in the background. Recordings are deleted automatically 30 days after they are made. They exist so you can compare your attempt with the native voice, which is of no use once the module is behind you; speaking progress you have already earned is kept when the audio goes.

All of this is kept in the app's private container on your iPhone and is encrypted while the device is locked. Voice recordings are excluded from iCloud and computer backups. Other progress data is included in your own device backups if you have them enabled; that backup is yours and Apple's, not ours.

iCloud sync

So that your progress survives a new phone or a reinstall, the app can keep a copy of it in the private iCloud database of your own Apple ID, using Apple's CloudKit service. This is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud and can be turned off at any time in Settings › iCloud.

  • What is synced: your mastery of each phrase and its review schedule, which days you have completed (with date, duration and accuracy), your streak and Readiness score, and your free-block choice.
  • What is never synced: voice recordings, your chosen language, and a module you are in the middle of.
  • Who can see it: only you. The data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's iCloud terms; the publisher of this app has no access to it and no server that receives it.
  • How to delete it: Settings › iCloud › Remove progress from iCloud deletes the copy and turns sync off. Deleting the app does not delete the iCloud copy; use the button first.

What the app does not do

  • It does not send any of the above anywhere except, if you keep sync on, to your own iCloud account. There is no server of ours.
  • It does not use analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, advertising identifiers or tracking.
  • It does not access your contacts, photos, location, camera or calendar.
  • It does not use speech recognition. Recordings are for your own playback only.
  • It does not include content or code from third parties.

Microphone

The app asks for microphone permission the first time you tap Record. If you decline, every other part of the course still works; only the recording controls are unavailable until you turn the permission on in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.

Subscriptions and payments

Full Access is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment and holds your payment details; we never see them. Apple shares with the app only an anonymous receipt that confirms the subscription is active. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Deleting your data

Open Settings inside the app. Delete all recordings removes every voice recording, and Reset course progress clears everything else the app has stored. A single recording can be deleted on the spot with Delete this recording, beneath the playback control in the Speaking step. Recordings you do not delete yourself are removed automatically after 30 days. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device.

Your rights over your data

The app collects nothing, so there is no copy of your data held by us to request, correct or delete — which makes the rights the GDPR and the CCPA give you self-service here:

  • Access and portability. Everything the app knows about you is on your device. Progress and settings are in the app's own storage; voice recordings are files you can play back in the app.
  • Erasure. Settings › Delete all recordings removes every recording, a single one can be deleted from the Speak step, and Reset course progress clears everything else. Recordings you do not delete yourself are removed automatically after 30 days. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. If you used iCloud sync, Settings › iCloud › Remove progress from iCloud deletes that copy too — do this before deleting the app, since removing the app does not remove the iCloud copy.
  • Objection and restriction. There is no processing by us to object to: no profiling, no advertising, no analytics, and nothing is transmitted to us at any point.
  • Withdrawing consent. Microphone access can be revoked at any time in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, and iCloud sync can be turned off in the app's Settings.

We cannot action a request to access or delete data we never received. If you believe we hold data about you, write to the address below and we will tell you what we can establish. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If the app ever begins to collect data (for example, if an account or sync feature is added), this policy will be updated first, the App Store privacy label will be updated, and the app will ask for any permission it needs at the time. The date at the top of this page changes whenever the policy does.
